Default BFP but stressed. Please comment.

Hi ladies.

Well as you can see from my signature i already have 2 kids. I did post in ttc chat room about a year ago and did not get very nice comments and was juged because i already had two kids and wanted one more.

Well after that and many other situations i decided i was not going to try to become pregnant again. I had given up hope completely and was seriously considering having a hysterectomy done.

Well i got a faint BFP on 16th Oct first beta 181 then 3 days later 538 so it is going up. Me and DH are very shocked as we had given up hope and made peace with not having more kids.

I got really bad cramps went to dr @ 4w3d since LMP but only saw thick uterine lining. Freaked me out should i have seen at least the sac?

Well i am now 5w3d and still get bad cramps and because of my previous losses i am very stressed with each cramp or pain that i get. I am already sooo happy and excited about this baby that i can hardly wait but i am still very scared about all these cramps.

I am trying my best to just leave it in God's hands and believe that all will be well but it is difficult. DH does not understand and feels like i should just keep calm and not stress but its hard and makes me feel bad because me stressing is not good for baby.

Did any of you have these cramps in early pregnancy? Please any help or advice will be appreciated. I cant remember how i felt with my DS in 2011.

Thank you ladies.

Hi Km3

I remember you

Congrats, wonderful news. I also remember having very bad period cramps early on in pregnancy. If you need peace of mind go for another BETA to see if it has increased again. When is your next scan booked for?

Good luck and I hope everything progresses nicely.

Thank you guys i really appreciate it. My next scan is 2 Nov. I should be 6w3d.

I have to have the mcdonald stitch @ 14 weeks as well.

Just found out my new medical aid is not going to cover the pregnancy so have to pay everything out of pocket so that is also causing stress. I am trying to keep calm and i am so super grateful for your replies and support.

Hi, I also had period-like cramps. Ask your dr about the Shirodkar cerclage. It sits higher on your cervix than the McDonald cerclage and is more secure and more suitable as a preventative cerclage in early pregnancy.

Thank you Helen i will def ask dr about that. I dont have a problem with my cetvix opening it is just for precaution due to LETZ opperation done after DD.

Cramps are on both sides feels like it is groin(had to google the name) not really my uterus when i sit its bad when i lay down it feels ok.

I was also told i have IBS so dont know if that might also play a role. Will ask dr when i go on the 2nd.

I am just trying my best to keep as calm as possible and keep the faith. Hoping to see something at my scan. I will let you know. Thank you so much for all your comments and support.

The round ligament that attaches your uterus to your body stretches into your groin and attach in your genitals. As your uterus expands to make space for baby that ligament stretch and that is the pain you are feeling. So all normal.
I also have IBS. There is a pro-biotic called LPV299 that is specifically for IBS. I use Enteron that contains LPV299. There is also a generic LPV299 that is much cheaper than Enteron but in my experience doesn't work nearly as well. Enteron is very expensive but works like a bomb. I only use it for a week or 2 and then I have no symptoms for months. I have no idea if it is safe in pregnancy, check with your dr.
